Everyone read an article SAP Expert about the qualities you need to have to become an SAP consultant. But development of your skills does not stop here.
Any SAP consultant has to make use of a variety of skills during the implementation process. The main ones are the ability to define goals and objectives, prioritize and achieve them, and above all express them clearly to the customer. But that’s not the full list.
Let me add some more:
- Negotiation skills, so you can accurately identify the user’s requirements
- Analytical skills to systematize user requirements in terms of SAP capabilities
- Creativity and writing skills for blueprint writing
- A mixture of logic and strong intuition for configuring SAP efficiently
- Painstaking accuracy for testing and loading of SAP master data
- Pedagogical skills for delivering clear, solid training
- Strong organizing skills for the initial go-live
- Endurance for support in the post go-live period
In fact, it almost seems that telepathic skills to understand the customer and teleportation for accelerating the distributed projects will become mandatory professional requirements for SAP consultants in the near future!
Do you have all these skills? Maybe you can add some more to the list?
