Working with any ERP system may be tiring. Being it system configuration, writing ABAP code or keying in accounting documents, all the routine operations may bore the system user or consultant. As a result, the user loses interest in his work, his moral decreases and productivity becomes nil.
SAP understands this issue and now gives users a way to solve the problem. The best way to bring attention back to the system is to play some games in the system.
It started long time ago, when some enthusiast ABAPers created Tetris, Mahjongg, Minesweeper and some other games for SAP ERP.
The recent introduction of in-memory database and processing tool HANA brings it all to a new level, and this time SAP AG takes the development in its own hands.
The new release of Simple SAP will include the SAP Games module, where a choice of games will appear. Apart from the above mentioned Tetris and Minesweeper, you will see the classical games like Civilization, Heroes of Might and Magic and Doom. The platform will be available for extensions through paid plug-ins, which will bring you Call of Duty and Grand Theft Auto.
It is also reported that the new platform will be compatible with Steam project with its huge choice of modern games.
Of course, SAP thinks about the productivity of its users! The built-in scheduling tools will allow configuration of work-game balance, like maximum working time without a game, or maximum time of the gaming session.
Will you play SAP Games?
